Forms are highly-contextual and depend on more than just the design of the form itself to convert well. Multi-step forms out-perform single-step forms Splitting your forms into two or three steps will almost always increase form completion. There are three reasons why multi-step forms work so well: The first impression is less intimidating than a long form with lots of question fields. By seeing a progress bar, users are more motivated to complete the form. This is, again, based on numerous proven cognitive biases such as the endowed progress effect. Remove all non-essential fields. Every additional field in your form is losing you leads — so consider whether each question justifies the incremental loss in leads or opt-ins. This technique reduces the average length of your form, while also reducing form abandonment by not displaying questions that might be irrelevant to certain users.

Experienced front-end developers optimize their site to load quickly and display accurately across all modern browsers. In this post, I will detail how to analyze the bottlenecks preventing websites and blogs from loading quickly and how to resolve them. It was quite the eye-opener. Unfortunately, we committed a user-experience sin right there: But we had never noticed the load times ourselves; probably because we had built the site.
Have you ever thought about going speed dating? It’s something I never really said out loud however it’s definitely something I was always curious about. The whole concept of speed dating is pretty interesting. If you’re a female you basically sit down and have males rotate around you every five minutes.
Then, you will have an opportunity to get direct advice from a number of seasoned UX professionals. Having processed hundreds of applications for UX roles, Ashley Hemingway would like to share some tips and tricks for UX job seekers, to ensure their applications stand out for all the right reasons. Previously, she has designed tablet apps for the pharmaceutical industry, websites and applications for large retail and banking brands, and packaging for consumer and beauty care products.
She has also consulted for several startups, where she loved turning early concepts into established and trusted brands while advocating for customer-centric design principles. During the few minutes a day she is not online, she can be found indulging in too much television, curiosity and cheese. A series of 2-person stations are set up around the room.
A reviewer a senior-level UX-industry professional or UX-industry recruiter is seated at each station. Participants sit with the reviewer and hand over their resume plus whatever work samples they’ve brought, and in the few minutes allowed, the reviewer provides their assessment. Feedback is brief and high-level. At the end of the session it’s time for the participant to move on. Work samples may include wireframes, documentation, screenshots, etc.

Review An Ultrabook needs to deliver on three things: The UX isn’t perfect, but it’s the best Ultrabook value yet. Finished in dark obsidian stone, the UX continues the ZenBook tradition by featuring a gorgeous aluminum body and a delicately thin waistline. The lid is decorated with a subtle laser-cut circle pattern that radiates outward from the center and draws your eye to the silver Asus logo in the middle.
Inside, the aluminum deck is complemented by a black Chiclet-style keyboard and spacious one-piece touchpad.

An Autonomous Rehabilitation Platform Spark is an autonomous rehabilitation platform that allows users to engage and make healthy progress in their recovery journey anywhere. We were a class consisted of juniors passionate about UX Design, and with a strong knowledge of the design and research process from classes taken previously. The students were split into groups of 5 to develop a product that will solve a problem with emerging technologies in 8 weeks.
Our team was an international group of 5 students from 5 different countries: Working within a pool of diverse cultures and perspectives was quite a challenge. We had our own ways of thinking, digesting and translating information. Even though all of us were UX designers, for this project we needed other skill sets in order to bring our project alive. Luckily, each one of us had unique skills that complemented our project. We individually re-visited them ex: We were lucky to have access to different physical therapists as our main source of generating insights, as well as user testing in their area.

Paul Berry After building the product for Huffington Post, and owning the product and engineering groups at AOL after we were acquired, it was clear to me there was a huge gap between what the current CMS offering gave the world and what the world needed. Five years later we are at scale, moving the needle and doing to WordPress what Airbnb did to Craigslist. Social and Centralized WordPress, Drupal, and the custom CMS solutions of the world are all independent, non-connected instances that each need to be updated individually.
There are over 87 million instances of WordPress alone in the world, and each security upgrade, feature update, and every other single thing has to be updated for each site individually.

Often times, this can be a problem which results in finding it hard to date socially. But in the world of technology, people are finding ways to connect online especially through social media. So I set off on a design challenge to try and design a dating app specifically for Ghana. The first thing I needed was a bit of data about what dating in Ghana in was like. I designed a survey and sent it through various social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.
From the little data I got, I could see there was an opportunity to design something that people might be interested in. Some had dabbled in Tinder and Bumble but not many had actually found good enough matches. Most cited their mistrust of dating apps as it seems that the people on there are more into hookups, which can be a turn off for people who want more things like casual dating. With that in mind, I took into consideration that users would want options as who they would want to be matched up with on the app.
Below is a Lo-Fi design for the onboarding process. Since this is a still a concept, I considered a Facebook verification or using an ID card verification. So most respondents in the survey stated that they had a mistrust of dating apps and so having users verify themselves could help create a more authentic experience.

A successor to last year’s identically named model, the late version of the UX UA upgrades the processor to a zippy Intel 8th-Gen Core i5 CPU while keeping everything else the same. Unfortunately, the added performance means 1. But with its colorful screen, sweet audio and 2.
Persona Speed-Dating is a fast, novel, fun method to help teams embed a human-centered mindset. This method pairs nicely with empathy mapping, collaborative sketching and other methods used to generate ideas that address differing customer needs.
Voice Assistant Speed Dating: Okay, that sounds like the set-up to a joke, but it actually happened this week at the labs. This is because we unconsciously anthropomorphise talking things, i. We asked the devices the same questions and compared the responses, and what emerged was a very interesting but nuanced variation in the emotional reactions they provoked. Alexa felt the most naturalistic, the Google Assistant and Siri felt more robotic in tone.
It was a great example of how copywriting is the user interface design of voice interactions. Just as fonts, colours and graphics help define the different emotional reactions we have to corporate websites vs. They feel more useful out of the box. Which is… er… what?

Follow these well-established — but frequently ignored — UX design guidelines to ensure users can successfully complete your website forms. The form includes 2 buttons at the bottom: Preview and Clear Form. The Preview label is less than ideal, since most users would expect a Submit or at least a Next button.
The speed dating represented an outside-the-box idea that helped both voters and candidates. “We just wanted to give people in the area access to the candidates,” DiRado said.
There are warriors who have wings made out of steel They are just about to take off for the last battle that determines the fate of the world These warriors will never give up, because they’ve got tenacious and strong hearts, that are filled with great love They are ready to sacrifice their own lives to blaze a new trail for the future, for new hopes Now imagine a threat it would take to bring them all together, and imagine them pounding it flat.
The first Super Robot Wars was released on the Nintendo Game Boy , and featured mecha from Mazinger Z , Gundam various series and Getter Robo referred to as the “Holy Trio” of the franchise and would star in nearly every game from then on. As the franchise grew, more series were added, as well as their characters. Each game would take the storylines of all the series and merge them into one mostly coherent whole.

Entered in Video About this entry Female drivers are outnumbering male drivers for the first time ever—and Millennial-generation female buyers are outpacing Millennial male buyers by 53 percent. The demographics of the automotive market are shifting faster than traditional marketing can keep pace. Gender representation in American advertising still tends to be flat and relies heavily on stereotypes: Rarely do depictions of women in American media give them any real power.
In , our strategic insight leads with the truth that women want more than just to not be stereotyped. They want to be heard for who they are. Our brand positioning, “Live out loud,” focuses on personal empowerment by showing women as individuals and not as a monolith. Why does this entry deserve to win?
